I was pleased to be able to hear Dr. Fred L. Johnson III speak last night at the Herrick District Library. The Hope College history professor and author presented a talk entitled "The History of African Americans in West Michigan."
With a background in music journalism and business speak, Amy currently focuses her creative energy writing free verse poetry and haiku. The southern-born, northern-bred Michigander-turned-Tennessean-turned-Michigander likes circular things -- CDs, vinyl records, typewriter keys, conversations and tostadas.
